An adventurous and romantic trip combining the best of the South Luangwa and the ultimate “chill out” on Lake Malawi

Six nights at Kapani Lodge and Norman Carr Bush Camps and three nights Kaya Mawa, Likoma Island, Lake Malawi.

Day 1: Kapani Lodge
Your guide will meet you at Mfuwe and drive you to Kapani arriving in time for brunch. The rest of the day is yours to relax until 3pm or so for tea followed by the afternoon/evening game drive.

Day 2: Luwi Bushcamp
Wake early and meet by the camp-fire for breakfast Pack your bags and take them with you because this morning's game drive will deliver you to Luwi. Arrive in time for brunch then, after a rest set out from camp on foot for your first true walking safari.

Day 3: Luwi Bushcamp
Explore the Luwi area including the permanent lagoon next to camp with its large number of hippo and crocodiles.

Day 4: Nsolo Bushcamp
Rise early and set off from the camp-fire on foot. Your walking safari will end at Nsolo. After brunch you will have a few hours to rest before your afternoon safari.

Day 5: Mchenja Camp
Tea and toast is served around the campfire at dawn. Head off again on foot and follow the course of the Luwi sand river as it winds its way to the Luangwa and Mchenja Camp; nestled under a magnificent ebony grove on the bank of the river. This afternoon you can drive or walk or try a mixture of both.

Day 6: Mchenja Camp
A full day at Mchenja with options of walks or drives. Or you may choose to take a picnic out in the vehicle with you and explore new territory further up river.

Day 7: Departure
Breakfast at Mchenja will be followed by a game drive through the Park ending up at Mfuwe airport for your onward flight to Likoma via Lilongwe.

Day 7 – 10 :
Spend 3 nights in bliss at the “barefoot luxury” Kaya Mawa. Swimming, snorkeling,, quad biking, fishing or just staring out over the wondrous beauty of the “lake of a thousand stars – the choice is yours!

Day 10:
Depart Likoma and fly to Lilongwe for your onward journey
