Swahili Coast, Selous Game Reserve and Ruaha National parks

Day 1 : Selous Game Reserve
The flight to Selous departs at 10:30. The plane swoops over the Rufiji River on its approach to landing, a dramatic arrival to the World Heritage Site and one of the largest Conservation areas in Africa. The transfer to Camp is short and there is plenty of time for an afternoon game activity.

Day 2 : Selous Game Reserve
The main feature of Selous is the sprawling river system with linked lakes and channels. The days activities are planned the night before and you can choose between walking, boating or vehicle safaris. Selous is the only location in Tanzania where boating safaris are possible and they are an exciting alternative to the vehicle.

Day 3 : Selous Game Reserve
A full day safari or 2 separate safaris are your choice for this day in Selous.

Day 4 : Ruaha National Park
A short morning game drive will take you to the airstrip for the flight to Ruaha National Park. Afternoon game drive.

Full board, 2 game drives in open 4WD vehicles, tea, coffee and laundry.

Day 5 : Ruaha National Park
Choose from either a morning and evening game drive with lunch back at the lodge or a full day game drive with picnic lunch.

Day 6 : Ruaha National Park
Ruaha has a wealth of different habitats to explore, from grassy plains, escarpment woodlands and rocky kopjes. Hippo pools and an abundance of bird life make for many alternative game drives. Alternatively you can take a guided walk (supplement) along the river with a lift back once you reach your destination.

Day 7 : Swahili Coast
After a full mornings game drive ending at the airstrip (picnic lunch provided) you will fly back to Dar es Salaam and transfer up the coast road to Bagamoyo – at this point you will take a boat across the sea for around 2km to the private Lazy Lagoon island. Here you will stay in one of the 12 beach front bandas on this beautiful and natural location.

Day 8 : Swahili Coast
White sandy beaches, blue waters and a warm friendly atmosphere -all add up to a relaxing day in the sun. For the more active there are windsurfers, sailing dinghies, sea kayaks or snorkelling.

Day 9 : Swahili Coast
Bagamoyo town has a rich history dating back to the slave trade; this was the staging point for the Great Explorers to enter the interior of the African Continent. A morning guided tour around Bagamoyo is an optional excursion from Lazy Lagoon.

Day 10 : Swahili Coast
Day at leisure on the beach or try your hand at some fishing from the rocks.

Day 11 : Swahili Coast
From Lazy Lagoon you will be taken back to the airport in time for international flight departure. Late check out is fine, but you may be asked to leave your room if more guests are due in.
