Dugong Beach Lodge is situated on the East-African seaboard on the coast of Mozambique in the idyllic Vilanculos Wildlife Sanctuary, the first privately managed Specially Protected National Park in Mozambique. The diverse eco-system of wilderness and wetland, with its powder-white beaches and crystal clear water is host to a magnificent array of fish, dolphins and most importantly, the nearly extinct Dugong. Shallow and deepwater reefs reveal beautiful creatures such as the great leatherback turtles, sailfish and manta rays. The large flocks of flamingos feeding at low tides on exposed sandbanks are a sight to behold.

Guests arrive at Vilanculos International Airport and a 45-minute boat ride brings you across the clear water bay from Vil anculos to Dugong Beach Lodge.
The lodge offers 12 luxuriously appointed, air-conditioned chalets (14 bedrooms, as two units are villas consisting of 2 bedrooms each) with direct access to the beach via individual walkways. All rooms have outdoor showers and a private deck furnished with day beds for relaxation and comfort. There is an interflowing swimming pool with an island-style bar with spectacular views of the ocean.Facilities & activities at the lodge include a fresh water swimming pool, snorkeling, pedal boats, paddle ski, bar & lounge, boardwalk jetty & gazebo, salt water fly fishing, deep sea fishing, picnic at Bangwe Island, nature walks & birding.

Access to the lodge:
By flight to Vilanculos, and by motorboat to Dugong Beach Lodge. In windy Conditions this boat ride may be choppy. Wading a short distance from the boat to the lodge may be necessary depending on the tides.
