Day 02: CAPE TOWN:
Explore the very best of the spectacular Cape Peninsula - the Gateway to the Cape of Good Hope. Depart Cape Town after your breakfast and head for the Jewel of the Cape, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the Garden, looking out for no less than 8 800 Species of indigenous plants – much of which is Fynbos, found only in the Cape. There is also an excellent variety of birds. The Tour then proceeds through the Constantia Wine Valley, to Muizenberg, stopping along the route to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the False Bay coastline, passing through Fish Hoek and then onto Simonstown where you visit the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach. The next highlight is the Cape Point Nature Reserve and the breath-taking Cape of Good Hope. Here the cold Benguela and warm Agulhas Currents allow the Atlantic and Indian Oceans to merge. Along the Coast, from July to November, look out for the Southern Right Whales - here to mate, and give birth, before returning to the Antarctic. On our return journey to the City, weather permitting, we will enjoy a scenic drive over the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive, stopping to overlook the fishing village of Hout Bay, then proceed further along the Atlantic Seaboard, make our way through Camps Bay, stopping for a photo of the awesome 12 Apostles, then past Clifton to Sea Point, ending our Tour in Cape Town. The actual Route of the Tour may be adapted to suit local weather conditions and traffic congestion, encountered on the Day, to ensure that our Guests have the very best opportunity to enjoy the Tour.
